Over a decade has passed since the first EDIS symposium was held in Philadelphia. Since that time thousands of ED Directors, physicians, nurse managers, hospital administrators, and information system specialists - plus scores of vendors - have attended this symposium.
IsEDIS, Intelligent Solutions for Emergency Department Information Systems, is the premier course that the ED Community relies on for education on how to computerize the ED. We have presented this course annually for the last 14 years. In addition to the high quality educational sessions, the isEDIS course features the opportunity to interact with a full array of exhibitors and to network with colleagues from across the nation and the world.
The economic recession has caused hospitals to withhold moneys for travel expenses and for infrastructure projects such as purchasing new ED Information Systems. Because of this, and to ensure that all attendees get maximal value when they attend, the course directors have decided to postpone the course until no later than the fall of 2010.
Over the next few months we will be developing a new feature on our website, a web forum to allow you to interact with your colleagues across the nation. Faculty experts in EDIS will moderate the forum.
The course directors will continue to develop the course so that you can be sure the next EDIS course will contain the best educational offerings and an optimal opportunity to interact with exhibitors and network with your colleagues.
The course has continued to develop and improve over the years, and most vendors and hospitals alike would agree that this conference is the country’s premiere program for exhibition, demonstration and sales of emergency department information systems.
Why attend the EDIS Symposium? Each year the Program Committee discusses ways to better meet the EDIS attendees’ needs and this year will be no different. New topics, fundamental information, high-tech lectures,
cutting edge seminars and additional information targeted specifically for each member of the multidisciplinary team—Nurses, Physicians, and IT Specialists—
will be included. If you have questions about implementing your Emergency Department Information System, we have someone with the answers.
